We love to photograph in the Red Sea. Have a look at the most recent photos. You just might decide to plunge in yourself! 🙂 I can warmly recommend snorkeling, diving and photographing close to the coral reefs.

Fascinating Red Sea World

To go underwater in the Red Sea takes you to a whole new world, a beautiful and fascinating world.

You can see hundreds of Lyretail Anthias, Scalefin Anthias, and Half-And-Half Cromis.

Beautiful Red Sea World 6

Once I met a BigEye Emperor and was truly surprised by the size of this fish, which is rarely seen at Port Ghalib, Egypt.

It swam slowly past me and disappeared into the deep blue sea.

The Bluespine Unicornfish, a juvenile this time, is so cute and neat. The spines are barely seen as small blue dots.

Chevron Butterflyfish likes to swim together. Here are two of them, and seems like they are dancing the same choreography. They seem to like the Raspberry Coral.

Lyretail Anthiascan sometimes surprise the photographer with its glowing  oragne color. Do you see the yellow Sulfur Damselfish. It is on the right and is quite small.

Exciting Red Sea

During our vacation in Port Ghalib, we got many new and exciting photos underwater.

Sergeant Major is a fun fish, it is certainly not a shy fish. It happily swims close to the photographer.

The Red Sea Raccoon Butterflyfish is such a beautiful fish. I love to photograph it. But as it is a shy fish, it is not easy to get very close to it.

The Red Sea Bannerfish is quite an elegant fish. It usually swims with its mate, very close to each other.

I have often seen two Masked Butterflyfish, swimming together close to the caves under the coral reef. Once I saw quite many of them, swimming right in front of me. It was a magnificent moment.

Sun and underwater photography

We are lucky to get to travel again to the Red Sea. As November is a very dark and rainy month in Finland, we look forward to the fantastic sunshine of Port Ghalib in Egypt. We also look forward to stay in our favourite hotel, formerly Intercontinental Palace, nowadays Red Sea Hotel’s The Palace Port Ghalib. The sandy beach and the coral reef in front of it are fabulous.

A great day comes to an end at ICPG

We can warmly recommend Port Ghalib, the Palace Port Ghalib hotel and to dive into the Red Sea.

To go underwater is fantastic.

Red Sea is full of beauty

We love to dive into the Red Sea. It is full of beautiful fish and corals.
This is a Blackside Hawkfish, a young one:

To watch the colorful corals and the deep blue sea takes your breath away. The view is fascinating.

It is wonderful to go under the corals into a world you did not know exists:

I can warmly recommend to visit Egypt, for example Port Ghalib, where the beaches and the sea life is amazing and wonderful.

Barracuda and Cornetfish

Red Sea offers a wide range of fish and corals to watch and photograph.

One time in Port Ghalib my husband happened to meet a Barracuda. That is a rare moment. He took some photos of the Barracuda while it was at the cleaning station. Afterwards he admitted that the situtation was very scary!

ps. click on the photos to see them enlarged

The barracuda is a ray-finned fish known for its large size and fearsome appearance.

Barracudas are ferocious, opportunistic predators, relying on surprise and short bursts of speed (up to 43 km/h) to overtake their prey. So you better not get too close to it or disturb it 😉

The Cornetfishes (or flutemouths) range up to 200 cm in length. They are as thin and elongated as many eels, but are distinguished by very long snouts.

Many more photos to come on this blog, so stay tuned 🙂
